James Franklin Shandor Sr.

James Franklin Shandor Sr. passed away peacefully February 4, 2024 in his home in Warren, Massechusetts.

Jim was born in Akron, Ohio March 28, 1944 to Geraldine and Joseph Shandor, Sr.  Jim graduated from Garfield High School in 1962 and started working at the Akron Beacon Journal.   He continued a long career in sales,.

Jim was a superb chef  with a gift of  hospitality, and a great sense of humor.  He loved to travel, especially trips to St. Maarten with his best friend Ron Waldroup and their wives.

Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elaine, of 44 years.  Jim leaves son, Jim Carr of Cape Coral, Florida, son James Shandor, Jr. of Miami, Florida, daughter Jeri Lynn Shandor of Canton, Ohio and step-daughter Gina Wahley of Torrington, Conn.  Jim leaves grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholas Carr, Anthony and Isabella Wood,  Emily and Lauren Whaley. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Joe Shandor, Sr., Fairlawn, Ohio.  He leaves his youngest brother, John Shandor, Doylestown, Ohio.
