Alexander A. Quinonez, a gifted master mechanic and devoted family man, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2026, in Worcester, Massachusetts. Born on August 27, 1982, in Camden, New Jersey, Alexander moved to Worcester at a young age where he spent the majority of his life, shaping a legacy through his exceptional skills, unwavering resilience, and boundless love.
A proud graduate of North High School, home of the Polar Bears, Alexander's natural talent and sharp intellect drew him toward mechanics early on. Though much of his expertise was self-taught, his proficiency as a master mechanic became widely recognized and respected. His passion for cars was unparalleled; there was no vehicle he could not restore, fix, or build anew. Known affectionately as a jack of all trades, Alexander’s hands and mind worked in seamless harmony, bringing to life mechanical wonders and earning admiration from all who witnessed his craft.
Alexander’s journey was marked by incredible perseverance. At just thirteen years old, he courageously battled and triumphed over both Hodgkin disease and lymphoma, demonstrating immense strength of spirit that inspired all who knew him. This fighting spirit remained a defining characteristic throughout his life.
Beyond his professional and personal battles, Alexander was a man of deep compassion, especially toward animals. His heart was large enough to care for dogs, birds, iguanas, and many other creatures, welcoming those in need with open arms. Yet, above all, it was his family that brought him the greatest joy and pride.
He was a loving husband to Chelsea Quinonez and a devoted father to seven children: Savanah Matias Quinonez, Zavaiah Quinonez, Alexander Jr. Quinonez, Gyadah Quinonez, Nataliah Quinonez, Mateo Quinonez, and Aliviah Hernandez. His role as the family’s chef and grocery shopper reflected his caring nature and dedication to those he loved. Known for his beautiful smile, quick wit, warmth, and humor, Alexander had a unique charm—always saying he would arrive in twenty minutes, only to show up several hours later, much to the amusement of his family and friends.
Alexander is survived by his mother, Carmen Quinonez, and her husband, Arnaldo Olavarria. He is also survived by his siblings Michelle Negron, Pedro Quinonez, Hector Quinonez, and Elizabeth Minor, along with her husband Rashad Minor. He leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews including Taysha Quinonez, Wendell Scotland, Luis Yadiel Colón Negrón, Keano Quinonez, Kyla Marston, Hector Jr. Quinonez, Lorenzo Marston, Jordan Quinonez, and Ramon Jr. Cruz. The many other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends whose lives he touched will hold him dearly in their hearts.
Alexander was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Quinonez.
A visitation to honor Alexander’s life will be held on May 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Comfort Cremation, located at 1027 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
Alexander’s memory lives on through his remarkable strength, his infectious laughter, his mechanical talents, and, most importantly, the unconditional love he gave so freely to his family and friends. His legacy is woven into the fabric of those who knew him and will endure through the stories, smiles, and hearts he touched so deeply. He will be remembered with profound respect and everlasting affection.
