Arthur F. Burlingame Jr.

Arthur F. Burlingame Jr. of Leicester died June 12, at 91 years of age.

He is survived by his son Paul and his wife Erin, four grandchildren Zachary, Harrison, Marilyn, and Josephine, his two great granddaughters Zoey and Ima, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Rita and their son David, and also his sisters Madeline and Barbara. 

Arthur was born in Worcester,son of Arthur F. Sr. and Mary (Flemming). He lived in Leicester most of his life. He attended Worcester Boys Trade School and served in the US Marine Corps. He worked for Sprague Oil and then at Leicester Package Store, retiring at age 89.

Arthur enjoyed camping, fishing, Cape Cod, and cruises. However, he got the most joy from spending time with family and friends. He was the biggest supporter of his grandchildren and could be seen at many of their events. Everyone loved Grampa Bud. He also enjoyed going out to breakfast with his buddies.

Arthur was a member of St Pius X parish and the Knights of Columbus. In his younger years he was a volunteer member of the Leicester Fire Dept and coached various sport teams.

Arthur had an amazing giving spirit and will be missed by many. 

The family would like to thank everyone on the 6th floor at UMass Lake Ave for the compassionate care and everyone at Eddy Pond East for bringing joy to his life. 

Visitation will be Saturday, June 28 at St Pius X Church, 1161 Main St. Leicester, 9:30-10:30. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00. Please omit flowers and make a donation to a charity of your choice.
