Barbara Dowd, affectionately known as "Auntie," passed away peacefully at her home in Springfield, Massachusetts, on July 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 29, 1938, in Braintree, Massachusetts, and lived a cherished life filled with humor, care, and warmth.

Barbara had a rich career, which included working at S&L in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and Dunkin’ Donuts in Revere, Massachusetts. Throughout the 1960s and 70s, she devoted herself to taking care of children in Chelsea, a testament to her nurturing spirit and love for family. Her proudest accomplishment was caring for kids, a role she embraced wholeheartedly.

A graduate of high school, Barbara possessed a lively personality that drew people to her. She was known for her quick wit, kindness, and a sense of humor that was often described as having “the mouth of a sailor.” Barbara was not only a good cook but also enjoyed puzzles, cleaning her home, and watching crime television shows.

She leaves behind cherished memories for her family, who will always remember her wit, humor, and love. Barbara is survived by her beloved dogs, Chichi and Chippy, and her niece, Charlene Goggin Logue, and her husband Bob Logue. Other surviving family members include Chloe Cunningham and her son Trevor John, her partner Justin Osborne, her nephew John Casiello and his wife Pamela, along with their daughter Miya Casiello. Teresa Baker and her children Mikhel and Mekhi Collins, and Mannix Resto Jr……..along with her niece Krystle Baker, Ericka Baker and family, and niece Tabatha Baker-Choquette and her husband Garrick, who have three children: Anastasia, Thea, and Cayde. Barbara is also survived by niece Angela Bosque, niece Carrie Bosque and her husband Angel…..niece Virginia Baker and her husband Joseph, as well as numerous great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Barbara is preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed her into eternal peace, including her beloved dog Snickers, as well as Charlene Baker, Nana Jeanette, Charlie Munzing, Charlie jr, Annie Rigione, and Geraldine. It is said that Barbara is now "riding the crazy train to heaven with Ozzy," a whimsical notion fitting her vibrant personality.

Barbara's legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her, as they cherish the laughter and love she shared. Her impact on her family and friends will be remembered fondly, and she will be sorely missed.
