Elizabeth Demarco, born May 17, 1954, peacefully passed away on her 72nd birthday, May 17, 2026. Elizabeth, lovingly known as Betty, was a woman of kindness, wit, and remarkable warmth—a presence truly cherished by all who knew her.
Betty’s professional life was marked by dedication and a spirited work ethic. She devoted many years to Wrights in West Warren, where her commitment and amiable nature made her a respected figure among colleagues and customers alike. She concluded her career at Old Sturbridge Village, a setting befitting her appreciation for history and community engagement.
Her personality shone brightly in both her work and personal life. Betty was known for her kindness, welcoming spirit, and vibrant sense of humor. She had a unique ability to bring joy and laughter into the lives of those around her. Her daughter in law, Laurie, recalled their cherished times together—sharing meals, attending various appointments, and the many laughs they enjoyed—underscoring the deep bonds Betty created through her genuine warmth and thoughtful nature.
An aficionado of simple pleasures, Betty loved to crochet, finding joy and tranquility in weaving threads into beautiful patterns. She also held a particular fondness for her collection of fake flowers, a testament to her eye for enduring beauty and cheer. Trips to the local dollar store were among her favorite outings, reflecting her delight in everyday adventures and discoveries.
Elizabeth is survived by a loving family who carry forward her legacy. She is remembered by her sons James Emerson and Jason Emerson, along with Laurie Emerson and Grant Howes, her daughter-in-law and son-in-law who shared in her life. Her brother Paul Tibbets remains a cherished family member. The next generations include her step-grandchildren Larissa Ostiguy and Samantha Bonafini; step great-grandchildren Charlie and Teddy Ostiguy; as well as her grandson Matthew Emerson, granddaughter-in-law Elizabeth Emerson, and great-grandson Caden Emerson, each holding a special place in her heart.
Betty’s beloved husband, Mark Demarco, predeceased her, passing on September 22, 2023. Their years together remain a foundational chapter of Betty’s life story, remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew them.
Elizabeth Demarco’s life was one of care, devotion, and joyous simplicity. Her organized nature and gentle humor made her a steadfast friend and beloved family member. As we remember her, we honor a woman who embraced life with an open heart and a radiant smile, leaving behind a legacy of affection and laughter that will endure in the hearts of all who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 11th at 11 am at Saint Paul’s Cemetery in Warren Ma
