Whitinsville, MA

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cassandra Phyllis Thompson, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on February 20, 2025, in the loving arms of her husband after a courageous battle with lymphoma. She was just 36 years old.

Cassandra, affectionately known as Cassie, fought valiantly to remain with her family for as long as she could. Her strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew her. Cassie leaves behind her devoted husband, Anthony Rivera, and their cherished children, 11-year-old Isabella, 7-year-old Philamena and 5-year-old Everett, who will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her loving mother, Joan Thompson of Northbridge, MA, and her siblings: Ethan Thompson and Jonathan Thompson, of Northbridge, MA, Carrie Thompson of Manchester, NH, Norman and his wife Larissa Thompson, of Uxbridge, MA, and Joe Ferguson of Summerville, SC. Cassie was also a proud aunt to her beloved nieces and nephews who brought joy to her life.

Born in Stratford, NJ on January 12, 1989, Cassie moved with her family to Northbridge, MA where she was raised and went on to graduate from Northbridge High School in 2007. Her unwavering passion for psychology and anatomy led her to Lynchburg College and eventually to Worcester State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. At the time of her passing, she was employed at The Department of Veterans Affairs and pursuing her Master’s Degree.

Cassie had an extraordinary ability to connect with others, making everyone feel valued and loved. Her dedication to her children was unparalleled; she was their fiercest advocate and expressed her gratitude for the blessing of motherhood throughout her life. Cassie was not only a remarkable mother but also a loyal friend who touched the hearts of many.

Her intelligence and free spirit shone brightly, as she remained true to herself and inspired others to do the same. Cassie's legacy will live on in the memories of those she loved and who loved her in return.

As we mourn her loss, we celebrate the beautiful life she led and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Cassie will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to guide us.

A celebration of her life will be held at:
