Christine Williams
Negus
Sep 4, 1956 — Jun 18, 2026
It is with both heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Christine Ann Negus (née Williams), a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and cherished friend to many. Chris departed this life peacefully on June 18th, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family.
Born on September 4, 1956, in the scenic town of Auburn, NY, Chris was the beloved daughter of Sharon Williams (née Stewart) and the late Edmond Williams. She was the oldest of 6 children, growing up alongside her siblings David, Mark, Jeff, Kim, and Sally, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Chris's early years were spent in Auburn, NY, where she graduated from Cato Meridian High School in 1974. Her pursuit of knowledge and dedication to hard work led her to a rewarding career at Weaver Machine and Tool, where she served with distinction as the department head of deburring and finishing. Her colleagues remember her as a dedicated and insightful leader, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a warm smile.
In 1979, Chris's world changed forever when she met the love of her life, Steven Negus. The two were inseparable for 44 wonderful years, united as one on August 29, 1986. Together, they raised three incredible children—John Ray III (Jessie), Joseph Ray (Danielle), and Jessica Bratt (Timothy) —and reveled in the joys of being grandparents to Sage, Haylee, Mackenzie, Logan, Autumn, Cadence, Jorja, Eowyn, and Harvey. Chris' family was the center of her universe, and she delighted in creating magical memories, especially during the holidays, when her home was filled with the laughter of her grandchildren.
Chris was known for her kind and easy-going nature. She had the ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as camping trips with her friends. Chris and Steve were also proud members of the Gutter Balls bowling league. Following in the footsteps of her Grandma Bea, Chris was also a member of the Eastern Star in Marcellus, NY. She was a pillar of strength and compassion, always willing to drop anything to help her family or friends in times of need.
Chris was preceded in death by her father, Edmond Williams, her sister, Sally Williams, and her beloved and never forgotten daughter, Erin Negus.
As we reflect on Chris' life, we are reminded of her unwavering love, her generosity of spirit, and her unyielding commitment to those she held dear. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and kindness—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
In place of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cleveland Clinic Hospice in Chris' honor, to support the compassionate care that brought her comfort in her final days. Click here to donate
A private celebration of Chris' life will be held for family in remembrance of a life so beautifully lived and a heart so deeply loved.
Christine Ann Negus, you will forever be missed but never forgotten. Your spirit lives on in the hearts of those you touched.
