Constance Ann Martin, lovingly known as Connie, passed away peacefully at her home on December 6, 2024, surrounded by the warmth of memories and the love she so generously shared throughout her life. Born on July 10, 1946, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Connie radiated warmth and kindness, leaving a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Connie's passions were many and varied, reflecting her vibrant spirit. She found joy in gardening, nurturing plants to life, and in the intricacies of ceramics, macrame, and crocheting, crafting beautiful pieces with her skilled hands. Perhaps most notably, Connie was a devoted animal lover, dedicating a significant part of her life to rescuing and finding homes for hundreds of kittens. Alongside her ex-husband, she ran a Greyhound rescue, where together they saved an impressive 200 greyhounds from the Hinsdale dog race track in New Hampshire. Her home was a haven for her beloved pets, and her family always knew they could count on her unwavering support.

Connie cherished her family dearly. She is survived by her children, Sharon Mills and Sean McCaughey, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Douglas McCaughey and his wife Bridie, Scott McCaughey and his wife Stephanie, Brett Doucette, and Robert Doucette and his fiancée Meghan.  Ariel Chavez and her husband Owen, Olivia McCaughey, and Jayce McCaughey, among others. She also adored her 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Connie is survived by her four beloved brothers: George Martin and his wife Elaine, Kevin Martin and his wife Debbie, Alan Martin and his partner Madonna, and Robert Martin and his wife Nanette. Her sister Cynthia Denson and her husband Bruce also carry her memory forward, along with all of her extended family and friends who were touched by her kindness.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Crocker; her father, James Martin; her brothers, Kenneth Martin and James Martin; and her sister, Katherine Wall. These family members welcomed Connie with open arms into eternity, and she will forever remain in their hearts.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer, allowing all of Connie’s family to gather together in remembrance of the light she brought into their lives. As they celebrate her incredible legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering support for both family and animals alike, Connie’s spirit will undoubtedly shine brightly among them.

Constance Ann Martin may no longer walk among us, but her love will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Her endless devotion, kind heart, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind will resonate through the years, reflecting the profound impact she had on all who knew her.
