IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dara Jean
Teixeira
April 28, 1971 – February 6, 2026
Obituary for Dara Jean Teixeira
Dara Jean Teixeira, born April 28, 1971, passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2026. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt whose warmth, humor, and love left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her.
Raised in Southbridge, Massachusetts, Dara later found her true sense of peace and belonging in Florida, where she spent most of her adult life. Drawn to the sunshine and outdoor living, she embraced a simpler, more connected way of life that suited her spirit. Florida was not just where she lived—it was where she felt at home.
Dara lived with a disability and did not define herself by a career or title. Instead, she measured life by connection, laughter, and presence. She was single, fiercely independent, and deeply content with the life she built around family, conversation, and everyday joys. One of her greatest companions was her beloved dog, Major, who brought her constant comfort and happiness.
Known for her heart of gold, Dara had a spontaneous, courageous, and loving nature. She had an effortless way of making people smile and laugh, and she made sure those around her felt cared for and included. Creative and crafty, she loved making things with her hands and expressing herself through thoughtful details. She also enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places, always curious and open to adventure.
Some of Dara’s happiest moments were the quiet, simple ones—sitting outside in the Florida sun, sipping a Natural Ice, and calling her daughters and family members to talk, gossip, and stay connected. Family meant everything to her, and she loved without condition.
She is survived by her three daughters, Brittany Teixeira, Tina Teixeira, and Nicole Teixeira; her five grandchildren, Faith Teixeira, Devonne Westbrook, Ava Otis, Carmelo Otis, and Kyair Larkin; her aunt, Cindy Defalco neice and nephew Ethan Defalco and Emily Defalco and her siblings, Kate Perrin and Derek Perrin.
Though her passing was sudden, Dara’s life was full of meaning. She loved deeply, laughed freely, and made people feel lighter simply by being near her. Her warmth, creativity, and unmistakable presence live on through the stories that still bring laughter, the family she cherished, and the love she gave so freely. She will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
