Dean “Deano” Binienda

October 31, 1955 — December 8, 2023

Dean “Deano” Binienda, 68, of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully at Tufts hospital in Boston with his loving family by his side after a long and courageous battle with his illness.

Dean battled back from one devastating health obstacle after another yet never lost his courage, love of people and his sense of humor.

He will be sorely missed and is survived by his sisters Robin Godbout and Diane Charielle of Worcester, his nephews Ethan Charielle of Grafton and Adam Charielle of Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his mother Roberta , his father Joseph ,his brother Robert and his beloved dog and faithful companion Oscar.

Dean spent most of his life managing and tending bars at several establishments in Worcester. He was everyone’s favorite bartender, both the young and the old . He spent his last years at the 9ines, where he loved to be and felt at home. He loved his job.

His love of sports was a lifelong passion. He loved to watch and talk about sports. Dean’s love of sports was second only to his love of friends, his” pals” those he considered family. He was generous to a fault, and would always be there for a friend, family member or neighbor.

We choose to believe he is now at his own “9ines” “somewhere beautiful, by the sea, making drinks, telling stories, getting laughs and making whoever is in front of him feel like the most important person in the world, because that is what he did best and what he loved most. Of course Oscar would be by his side and they’d be sharing slices of Krakus imported ham(their favorite)

The family wishes to thank the dedicated and compassionate doctors, nurses and staff at Tufts for the care provided to Dean as he battled his illness until he no longer could.

They would also like to give a heartfelt thankyou to the incredible community of friends and neighbors who maintained Dean’s home, lawn, delivered meals, took care of little Oscar until he passed, and all the other countless kindnesses and generosities.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
