Edward Varteresian

Edward Varteresian, 85, a lifelong Worcester Resident, passed away peacefully, on Friday, December 16, 2022, after a period of declining health. He is survived by his wife and beloved companion of 26 years, Myrna D. (Baer) Varteresian.

Edward was born in Worcester, MA, on December 11, 1937, one of six children of the late John and Julia (Terzian) Varteresian. He was raised in Worcester and graduated high school from Worcester Boys Trade. He worked for many years as a bus driver before eventually retiring. Edward was very proud of his Armenian heritage and was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church in Worcester. 

Edward had many hobbies and interests throughout his life. In his early days he played drums in the Aramite Band. He was also a long time member of the Freemasons. He enjoyed watching tv, shopping and following local and national politics. Edward was an avid reader of non fiction books and never stopped wanting to learn new things.  

In addition to his beloved wife, Myrna D. (Baer) Varteresian, Edward is also survived by his 4 children, Stephan Varteresian and his wife Julie of Gardner, MA, Jeffrey Varteresian of Northborough, MA, Edward Varteresian and his wife Melissa of Milford, MAand John Varteresian and his wife Sabrina of Webster, MA; 2 stepchildren, Renee Messier of Webster and Scott Messier of Virginia; his sister, Rose Varteresian of Worcester, MA; 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

All services will be private. Comfort Cremation Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with his arrangements.
