Howard George Wiemer, Sr passed away peacefully on July 8th in Worcester, MA. Known as “The Boss” to his friends, Howard lived most of his life in Ventnor, Vineland and Williamstown, before moving to Massachusetts in December 2024.
Howard was born June 29, 1939 in Camden, NJ to Harry and Lillian (House) Wiemer. He grew up with his siblings Charles, Eugene, Barbara and Betty in Clayton, and he graduated from Glassboro High School in 1957. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Meredith in the Mediterranean Sea.
Howard went to work at Kimble Glass Company in Vineland when he was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1962 and remained there until his retirement in the early 1990’s. Never one to remain still, Howard continued to work into his 80’s, managing Decatur Liquor Store in Pleasantville, couriering for a group of medical facilities, owning and operating an office cleaning service and fabricating sheet metal ducting for T.J. Eckardt Associates of Berlin. He proudly served his communities with the Ventnor-Margate and Winslow Township Lion’s Clubs.
Howard enjoyed hosting and entertaining friends at backyard barbecues and tailgate parties throughout his life. Whether in his backyard or yours, the parking lot at the Vet or the Garden State Arts Center, he always ended up working the grill and preparing food for everyone! He loved going to the beach, crab fishing and golfing with friends. He was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and loved attending the Army Navy game with family and his friends Ruben, Dave, TJ, John and Fred.
He was married three times throughout his life. His first wife, Mary Bracarello, resides in Williamstown. He was later married to Connie (Randazzo-Zenni) of Ventnor, who passed away in 2021. His final marriage was to Francine Livoti of Vineland, who preceded him in death in 2016.
Survivors include; three daughters, Kim Connell (James) of Williamstown, Lisa Souder (Richard) of Galloway, Sharon Elbertson (Joe) of EHT; two sons, Howard (Heather) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Michael (Nicole) of Jefferson, MA; one sister, and Betty McLaughlan of Millville; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Other survivors include nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Charles (Dolores) and Eugene (Josephine), and one sister, Barbara Sherwood (Harry).
