James A. Porcaro, Sr., 75, of Shrewsbury, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the Rose Monahan House with loving family by his side. He was born on June 6, 1950, in Worcester, MA to James G. Porcaro and Veronica (Roser) Porcaro. He leaves his wife, Patricia (Lorusso) Porcaro of 52 years; sons, James Porcaro, Jr., his wife, Elizabeth, Christopher Porcaro, his wife, Jennifer; daughter, Jillian Porcaro; three grandchildren; and family friend, Paul Orsi.
Also, he leaves siblings, Donna, Robert, his wife Marilyn, Susan, and Linda, who predeceased him; brothers-in-law, Paul Lorusso, his wife Carol, Anthony Lorusso, his partner, Stephen, and Ronald Lorusso, his wife, Donna; Godmother, Rose Porcaro; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He graduated in 1968 from Worcester Vocational High School and in 1970 from Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. James was a Veteran of Army National Guard 181st Infantry with an honorable discharge in 1976. He was a member of Local 57 Ironworkers Union, also owned and operated Auto Magic Used Cars. In his later years, he was a project manager for Marriott Hotels. He enjoyed spending time with his family at car shows, especially enjoying his 1963 Corvette. He would always listen to his 60’s music, “the golden oldies.” He enjoyed sitting in the sun and his condo in Florida.
On January 10, 2026, a mass will be held at 11:00a.m. at Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Road, Shrewsbury. The burial service will be private.
