John Thomas Coran

John passed away Saturday, June 29th, after a brave battle with lung cancer and dementia. 

John lived most of his life in Worcester. He was the son of the late Alfred and Ann Coran of Gates Lane. Predeceased by his wife Annie (Huikku) Coran of Worcester. 

He joined the Navy when he was 17, serving for 6 years. He worked with his father at Reed Plastics for many years. Then, on and off throughout his life as a mechanic and taxi driver. 

John was a very funny person, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was always trying to make people laugh or annoy them. Stubborn to his core, but he was, in his own right,  the captain of his own ship of fools! He loved so many things, fishing, dancing, music, cards, darts, and playing pool, especially with Kathy and his children, Doug and Jody, when they were all on a league together. Anything basically that meant being a part of having a great time, he was sure to make it even better. 

He leaves behind his sisters, Donna MacGregor, Kathy Perham, and Sandy Rice of Florida.  His Son(s) Douglas Short,  Daniel Coran of Worcester with his son Daniel, John Coran with his daughters Felicia and Oshen-Keli of New York. His daughter Jody Coran of Ohio and her children, Sebastian, Gavin, and Liam. 

A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion in Spencer from 12-4 on Sunday July 14th. Please join the family and celebrate my father, John. Enjoy some food, have a drink and share a story or two.
