Jose Mestre, affectionately known as "Lefty," graced this world with his vibrant spirit from November 4, 1963, until his departure on February 21, 2026. A man imbued with warmth and humor, Lefty's presence was a testament to strength and resilience, a beacon of light in the lives he touched.

Lefty is remembered for his infectious sense of humor and profound knowledge; he possessed an uncanny ability to bring joy and wisdom into every conversation. His unwavering determination to stand tall in the face of life's challenges inspired many, as he never wavered or gave up, embodying a spirit of perseverance that was nothing short of remarkable. His commitment to being a steadfast support for those in need showcased the depth of his kindness and love.

A man of many passions, Jose had an extraordinary affinity for fixing things, be it cars or any object needing repair. His hands were always busy, and his heart filled with joy whenever he engaged in his hobbies, notably fishing and watching Alaskan fisher shows. He had love for boxing as well as his 80-90s hiphop music and Bboy moves and of course his Salsa throwbacks. These simple pleasures brought him immense satisfaction, and he often shared laughter and warmth as he cracked jokes, creating lasting memories for all who gathered around him.

Lefty's most cherished accomplishments were those that embraced his family, particularly the joy of watching his children grow. His legacy is perpetuated through his beloved wife of 36 years, Monica Cutler; daughter Jessica Mestre; son Jose Mestre Jr. and his wife Aneesah, who further enriched their family with love and the countless grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to his life—Aaliyah Gallicchio, Gabrial Mestre, Cyndel Medina, Noah Hazard, Kevin Mestre, and Isabellah Mestre. He also embraced two stepdaughters, Francesca and Antonia and their children, into the fold of his heart, as well as Alicia Gallicchio, whom he cherished as a daughter.

In addition to the immediate family, Lefty is survived by his beloved mother, Georgina Claudio; his sister, Maria; brothers Luis and Desy; and stepbrothers  Tony, Fat Joe, and David and step sister Carmen as well as many cousins and nieces and nephews . Together, they form a tapestry of connection that remains vibrant in his memory.

Lefty’s life was enriched by the love of his family, and his spirit will forever resonate in our hearts. We will continue to honor his memory, keeping his lessons of resilience, kindness, and laughter alive as we navigate life without him. Though he has departed from this earthly realm, Jose Mestre's legacy will shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved him most.
