Kathleen Marilyn Shippee

August 3, 1949 — February 10, 2023

Kathleen Marilyn Shippee, 73, a lifelong resident of Worcester, MA, passed away unexpectedly, at home on Friday, February 10, 2023. 

Kathleen was born in Worcester, MA on August 3, 1949, a daughter of the late Milton Shippee and Marilyn D. (Fontain) McArthur. She was raised in Worcester, where she graduated from Commerce High School. She was a lifelong devout catholic and member of St. Peter Catholic Church on Main Street in Worcester. Kathleen was a dedicated homemaker, who spent her life caring for her family as well as anyone who she came across in life. Kathleen also worked 2-3 jobs at one time, including as a factory worker at Culver-Sterns, a caregiver and a foster parent, for most of her life in order to support her family. 

Kathleen was a true matriarch to her family and the glue that held them all together. She loved everyone fiercely and never minced her words. You always knew what she was thinking because she always spoke her mind, but she cared for everyone that was blessed to have known her and she was alway willing to lend an ear to listen to someone else’s troubles. She was an amazing mother to her own three children as well as all the children in her neighborhood and the best grandmother to her many grandchildren. She loved all of God’s creatures including her many dogs and cats throughout the years. Kathleen was a voracious reader and also enjoyed playing video games, working on crossword puzzles, coloring and  doing arts and crafts. She was truly one of a kind and will be missed immensely by her many friends and family. 

Kathleen is survived by her 3 children, Jolene Shippee, Nicole Winfield and her husband Christopher and Craig Shippee; her grandchildren, Latoya, Craig, Alexia, Ramon and his wife Cassandra, Marcus, Nyala, Christopher, Sanaa, Paisley and Daquan, and all of her great grandchildren Aristides, Marilyn, Juan, Ava Alivia, ChrisMarie, Xavier, Ramon, Desare, Eliana, and many many more extended family and countless friends that they acquired throughout her life. In addition to her parents Marilyn McArthur and Milton A Shippee, she was also predeceased by her grandson,Juan Shippee. 

All services will be held privately at the request of her family. There will be a celebration of life for her at her home on Saturday, February 25th at 4:30pm with family and friends. All are welcome to come and celebrate her life.
