Linda S (Saunders) Russo, of Medway, MA was born on July 23rd, 1944 in St Mary's Hospital Waterbury, CT to the late Henry J and Eva I (Hutchinson) Saunders, has passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2025, at St Mary's Health Care Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
A proud graduate of Wilby High School in Waterbury, CT, class of 1962, Linda began a long and dedicated career that started at Scovill Manufacturing Company as a machine operator in the button and fastener production section of the company. She transferred to Cambridge, MA, and eventually played a key role in the transition following the acquisition of TRW Dot Division by Scovill Inc. Her tenacity and commitment to her work paved the way for her advancement, ultimately becoming a Customer Service Representative. She concluded her professional journey at Paramount Industries in the sporting goods sector, where she proudly worked until her retirement.
Beyond her professional achievements, Linda led a life marked by success, resilience, and a strong sense of family. Linda was known for her love of yard work and gardening when the weather permitted, taking pleasure in the cultivation of her surroundings. When indoors, she enjoyed engaging in creative crafts, dedicating time to reading,communicating with relatives and friends along with watching her favorite television shows, but more than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Linda leaves behind three brothers Richard and David Saunders (Demorest, GA), Dennis Saunders (Waterbury, CT) and her sister Suzette Pelkey (Litchfield, CT), She was the mother of Robert E. Descault, Jr. (Providence, RI) and Joyce L. Gengo, and husband Kenneth J. Gengo, Jr. (Madisonville, TN) She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Linda M. Grenon and her husband Richard (Cumberland, RI), as well as two grandsons, William J. Chapman, Jr. and his wife Shannon (Rondeau) Chapman (Woonsocket,RI), and Brandon M. Chapman (Madisonville, TN). She was blessed with nine great-grandchildren Hailey Cote-Grenon, Kaitleyn Grenon, Timothy Grenon, William Chapman III, Gabriel Chapman, Dylan Chapman, Liam Chapman, McKenzie Chapman and Camerin Chapman, several cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as numerous friends who will remember her fondly.
Linda is predeceased by her husband Michael P. Russo, as well as four brothers, Sterling, Theodore, Sherman, and Randall Saunders.
Linda's legacy of love and dedication will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed yet lovingly remembered.
There will be a private burial at a date and time to be determined.
