Lloyd Eugene Stewart, affectionately known as “Spunky,” passed away peacefully at home in Ayer, Massachusetts on April 26, 2026, at the age of 72. Born in Bloomington, Illinois to Ruth and John Stewart on October 19, 1954, Lloyd had a deep love for his country and served in the Navy in 1973.He spent his career as a professional truck driver with ABF and was a proud member of the Teamsters. Lloyd enjoyed working with anything mechanical, especially sports and muscle cars, and was a skilled craftsman. He was always willing to help family, friends, and neighbors with painting, plumbing, electrical, building, or carpentry projects, repairs, or upgrades. He often displayed his fierce support for the 2nd Amendment and engaged in target practice.Lloyd married Marcia Smith on March 18, 1977, and was a devoted father to his two daughters, Amy Deavers of Illinois and Brittany Stewart of Kentucky. Lloyd loved playing pool, cards, visiting casinos, telling jokes, and baking his well-known homemade pizza on Sunday nights. But above all, he cherished and supported his family.In his last five years, Lloyd moved to Massachusetts to be with his companion Nick Psychogios, and together they explored New England, traveled across the country, and visited Greece. After a two-year battle with cancer, Lloyd passed away surrounded by Nick, his daughters Amy and Brittany, and their beloved dog Iris.Lloyd was predeceased by his parents and his wife Marcia and is survived by his daughters Amy and Brittany and several grandchildren. He will be dearly remembered for the joy and entertainment he brought to everyone who knew him. Spunky, fly high, free from cancer and pain, and know you will always be loved!A celebration of Lloyd’s life will be announced at a later date.
