Lois Wilna Layte

Lois Wilna Layte, passed away at home in Ware, MA on June 7, 2025. Born on August 19, 1951, she spent her life spreading warmth and kindness wherever she went. She worked at Oxford Discount Deli where her friendly smile became a staple. Many also remember her fondly from her time at Filenes Basement in Auburn resulting in lifelong friendships.

Lois was a remarkable mother who instilled a strong work ethic in her daughters, shaping them into the women they are today. Her home was an open door for all, welcoming anyone in need with a warm heart and a generous spirit. Holidays were a must at her home there was always an abundance of laughter that echoed long after the festivities ended.

A resident of Oxford, MA for the majority of her life, her love of her yard, garden and nature will have a lasting impact on her family. Lois had a soft spot for animals, also a devoted friend to her feathered companions and furry critters.

She leaves behind her husband, David Layte. Her daughters, Michelle, Dawn and Tracy Gedman, their partners Shane, Jakor and Jon and three grandsons, Nicholas, Daymyin, and Jonny Jr. Her nephew Beau Munzert and wife Michelle, their children Mariana and Beau Jr along with Satyrah's children Kane, Jayda, Raykel, Satyrah, Gerald and Draven.

Lois’ family extends to David's children: Stephanie and Cory of Webster, David and Erin of Buzzards Bay, and Brian of San Diego, CA. Along with their children, Cody, Payton, Logan, Tyler, Miles, Quinn, and Landon.

We all hold treasured memories of her close to our hearts.

She is reunited with her parents, Louis Munzert and Frances (Mickey), along with her sisters Linda Munzert and Betty Ann Veroneau, and her cherished niece Satyrah Munzert.

Lois’ legacy of love, laughter, generosity, strength and light will forever radiate in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She left the world too soon, but her spirit and the memories will live on, reminding us to keep our doors open and our hearts full.
