Luis A Diaz Sr. “Pa,Papa,Grandpa” 79, of Auburn and formerly of Worcester, MA died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 15th surrounded by his family. Louie loved unconditionally. Louie and Doreen (Soucy) were married for sixty-one years.

He is survived by his children: Dianna Dulmaine and her husband Bob; Luis Diaz, Jr. and his wife Patricia; Michael Diaz of Las Vegas; and his nephew Rene Diaz, whom he lovingly raised as his own. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Amanda(Dulmaine) Scully and her husband Dave, Robert Dulmaine, Matthew Diaz Sr., Alexa Diaz and her partner Jazlyn. As well as his great-grandchildren: Brianna and Julianna Diaz, Makenna and Jordan Scully, and Matthew Diaz Jr. They all lit up his life with laughter and fun.

In addition to his family, Luis is survived by his brothers Jose and Cirilo Jr., his sister Martha (Dufrense) and her husband Rich, his special nephew Miguel Santiago, and his niece (godchild) Lisa Diaz. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and special sister-in-law Jeannie (Soucy) Cooper.

Luis was predeceased by his parents Eva and Cirilo; his grandson Brian Diaz; his brothers Angel and Rene; his sister Maria (Fugatt); and many brother in-laws and sister in-laws.

Born in Barranquitas P.R, 1946, to Evarista and Cirilo Diaz and then grew up in New York and Worcester MA. Louie met the love of his life, Doreen, in 1962 then married in 1964 and what followed was sixty-one years of beautiful loving memories. Doreen was his rock, his joy, and his world. Louie loved working on cars and helping others with such a big heart. He retired from The City of Worcester as a custodian of Belmont Street School.

Louie’s resilience and joy will always be remembered. His unconditional love will always be felt and missed dearly by family and friends. Special shout out to Bingo friends at the Auburn Elks and his neighbors Anita, Tom, and Niel and Lena.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. His wife and children would like to thank family and friends for their unwavering love and support during this difficult time.
