In the company of his cherished family, Malcolm peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Sybil in 2009, Malcolm is survived by Jo-Ann Polson and her husband David, along with her brother Danny Polson of Atlanta, Georgia. He leaves a loving extended family, including five stepchildren—Leslie, Michael, Angie, Jenny, and Linda—along with twelve step-grandchildren and nineteen step-great-grandchildren who carry forward his spirit.
A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Malcolm served his community through dedicated work for the city before moving to Massachusetts with Sybil in 1988. There, he diligently worked at Klem’s in Spencer, demonstrating his commitment and friendly nature up until the age of 85. As a proud Navy veteran of the United States, he sailed aboard the Huntington destroyer USS Never Stop, embodying a valorous spirit.
Malcolm reflected on a long and fulfilling life, remarkably free of illness until its twilight. At 90, he maintained his mobility and sharp wit, qualities that endeared him to many until his final days. His joyful presence and generous heart will be profoundly missed. May he rest in peace.
A service celebrating Malcolm's life will be held at the North Brookfield Congregational Church on September 12 at 11:30 a.m., with a luncheon to follow in the church's rectory room.
