Margaret “Peggy” M. (Bedard) Kibbe

October 4, 1948 — February 28, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend Margaret Mary Kibbe. Peggy lost her brief battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 74, on February 28th, at home in the loving presence of her daughters.

Peggy was born in Whitinsville to Leo T. Bedard and Margaret E. (Potty) Bedard. She was raised in Northbridge with her brother Leo Bedard, where she lived until marrying her husband, Calvin Kibbe, Jr in 1969. From there, they moved to North Carolina while Calvin served in the Marine Corps. They then moved to Upton where they shared a duplex with her brother and his wife, Linda Bedard. After the birth of her first daughter, Jennifer McNulty, the family moved to Grafton. She gave birth to her second daughter, Jocylyn Kibbe Antobenedetto, 5 years later. Eventually, they moved back to the home she was raised in in Northbridge, then moved to Bourne. After her husband passed in 2001, she moved to Auburn where she lived with Jocylyn and her two grandchildren Quinne and Connor.

Peggy worked as an assembler for a variety of companies, retiring from Karl Storz when she was 73. She was very creative and enjoyed sewing, painting, and assembling jigsaw puzzles. She made all her daughters’ Halloween costumes when they were growing up. She especially loved making cakes for family members and even sold cakes to co-workers for special occasions. She was a true “foodie” who loved cooking, dining out, trying new foods, and watching cooking shows. Peggy also loved the outdoors, traveling, camping, gardening, bird-watching, and fishing.

Peggy is predeceased by her husband of 32 years Calvin and is survived by daughter Jennifer and her husband Brian, daughter Jocylyn, brother Leo, grandchildren Quinne, Isabelle, and Connor, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her family meant everything to her and she cared for them more than anything else. She was a friend and caregiver to her grandchildren, taking them on outings and teaching them about the world. She will be greatly missed.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday March 11th at Oxford’s Casual Dining in Oxford, MA starting at 11:30. From 1:00-3:00, a buffet will be served for those who would like to join the family.
