Martha Stengel Chapel Bardossy

Martha Stengel Chapel Bardossy, known as Casey to most and “Mopsy” by family, peacefully transitioned to Heaven on October 21, 2022.  Martha was born in Philadelphia on June 9, 1946, but later moved to Holden Massachusetts and graduated Wachusett Regional High School, Class of 1965.  Casey enjoyed her days in the school band and attended Berklee School of Music in Boston after graduation, before marrying and starting a family.  Casey enjoyed serving in church ministries, whether through her talents playing French horn and organ, joining local outreach missions, or being the photographer for Vacation Bible School, and even a Dominican mission trip. Casey had a love for learning.  She received degrees from Quinsigamond and Assumption Colleges in Worcester. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the beaches of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. She collected colorful T-shirts from her favorite places. Casey is survived by her three children: Douglass and Sorana Chapel, Laurie and Shawn Dickens, and Wendy and Luis Peña; her five grandchildren: Alyssa, June, Melanie, Charlie, and Trevor; her sister Susan Stengel, brother, David Stengel, and several cousins.  She is predeceased by her parents; Alfred Stengel Jr and Anne Stengel, brothers Alfred III and James Stengel, and sister, Alice Stengel, along with many aunts and uncles.  Burial will be at The Stengel Family plot in Old St David’s Episcopal Church, Wayne, Pennsylvania. Casey will be remembered with a celebration of life at her beloved church, First Baptist of Holden, at a future date.
