Nathan John Penn

February 4, 1978 — January 6, 2023

Nathan John Penn, 44, of Worcester, MA, was called home to the Lord, on Friday, January 6, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 8 years, Josie Alicea.

Nate was born in Boston, MA, on February 4, 1978, a son of Frederick Mitchell and Antoinette Penn. He was raised in Dorchester, MA until he was 15, when he moved to Worcester with his family. Nate graduated from North High School, where he was a stand out athlete, playing on the football team as well as the District Champion Basketball team. During his high school years Nate also spent his summers working as a lifeguard. After graduating high school Nate continued his athletic career playing for ten years for the semi-pro Worcester Wildcats football team and earning 3 championship rings as an offensive tackle, which he was extremely proud of. Nate was also an avid poker player and ran a poker league on Monday and Thursday nights at Patsie Duggan’s Irish Pub in Worcester. He was a talented cook with a big appetite to match his even bigger personality and size. Those that knew Nate remember him most for his giant heart and as a fierce protector of those he cared about.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Josie Alicea, Nate is also survived by his 3 children, Jonah, Nathalia and Sophie; 8 siblings, Nicci Penn, Julius Penn, Shane Penn, Antwan Penn, Courtenay Penn, Laron Penn,Louie Couadrado and Téon Jamal Gaines and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

All services will be held privately. Comfort Cremation Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with his arrangements.
