Patricia “Tisha” Collins, of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous three-year battle with breast cancer on May 29, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born on February 7, 1961, Tisha was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She left a Legacy of Love. She was the proud mother of Kristen Smith and her husband Tim, and Jon Benoit and his partner Christina Zollo. Tisha was the cherished “Mimi” to her six grandchildren—Jaelynn, Trevor, Jase, Aubrey, Matteo, and Brooklyn—each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Tisha was one of six siblings and is survived by Debbie, Jimmy, Sonny, Craig and her best friend/sister Annemarie LaFlash. She leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many bonus children and bonus grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sister Colleen, her mother Noreen Collins -who she dearly missed, and her father Arthur Collins.

A lifelong resident of Worcester, Tisha had a heart as big as her smile. She formed lasting bonds throughout her neighborhood (Tot-Lot), turning friends into family over the years with generations to follow. She was known for her love to shop “Til she drops”, bingo nights, a warm cup of tea, soaking up vitamin D in OOB, and spending quality time with those she cherished. Whether it was a family gathering, a chat on the porch, or a long phone call, Tisha had a way of making every person feel seen and heard. She lived a remarkable inspirational life defined by love, wisdom and unwavering devotion to her family.

She began her education at Sacred Heart of Jesus Grammar School and graduated from Girls Trade High School. Following her passion, she pursued a career in cosmetology. Her professional journey later led her to a long and dedicated tenure at Filene’s Basement, where she worked in the IT department. In addition to her technical career, she also served with compassion at Catholic Charities, assisting families in need. In her later years, she generously gave her time volunteering at the South Worcester Neighborhood Center, continuing her commitment to helping others. Her life was shaped by strength, grace, love and profound insight. Which she generously shared with a wide network of family, friends and loved ones. She was admired for her warmth kindness and ability to make all feel welcomed. Above all, Tisha will be remembered for the immense love she gave and the deep impact she had on the lives around her. Her enduring spirit and compassionate heart leave a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations.

Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported Tisha throughout her journey. We are especially grateful to her incredible medical team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, including Dr. Jose Leone and his assistant Bri , for their dedicated care. Our sincere appreciation also goes to the Palliative Care team at UMass Medical Group, and to Dr. Reidy and Dr. Hughes, whose kindness meant so much to Tisha—she truly adored them. Lastly, a very special thank you to the compassionate team at JCC, her nurse Annemarie and Kim LaFlash who cared for her with such tenderness and dignity in her final days.

A special recognition goes to Pawsitively 4 Pink for their unwavering support over the past three years.
