Richard Daniel Dzwilewski Sr., affectionately known as Rick, was born on June 10, 1956, and departed this life on August 13, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by his loved ones and the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
Rick was a loving husband to Carolyn Dzwilewski. Their bond was indestructible and everlasting, a partnership that stood as a testament to love and mutual respect. Together, they raised their children, instilling in them a unique blend of resilience and the ability to also take things lightly. Rick emphasized the importance of honesty and clarity, often urging them to express their thoughts openly and confidently.
He began his professional career in 1985 at Wang Laboratories, where he honed his skills and laid the groundwork for a prosperous future. His journey took him into the construction field, working alongside builders to wire homes, a labor that would eventually lead him to a devoted 25-year tenure with the Ashburnham Westminster School District. There, he supported maintenance and electrical responsibilities for both towns, dedicating his expertise to the community. Beyond his technical role, Rick found great fulfillment in educating and mentoring young individuals eager to enter the same trade, nurturing their potential and guiding them toward successful careers.
Rick was known for his striking personality and ability to resonate with those around him. He had a remarkable talent for being exactly who each person needed him to be, fostering unique relationships that were individually significant. With a keen sense of humor, he skillfully used laughter to navigate life's challenges, reminding others of what truly mattered. Friends often remarked on his sharp intellect, asserting that he was not to be underestimated or fooled.
An ardent outdoorsman from the tender age of four, Rick had a profound appreciation for wildlife and a passion for hunting and fishing, interests that remained integral to his life. He should be remembered as a builder—not just of homes and gardens, but of experiences and relationships. Time and again, he demonstrated a remarkable ability to reconstruct and adapt when life called for resilience.
Rick’s vibrant spirit and zest for life shone through in his words: "I’ve had one hell of a ride so don’t be sad when I’m gone. I’ve had plenty of fun. Ride On." These sentiments reflect a life well-lived, filled with joy and meaningful moments.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Dzwilewski; his son, Richard Jr.; his daughter, Jessica; grandchildren David Luberto Jr. and Julia Luberto; and sisters Rosemary Yokoff and Valerie Briere.
Rick joins in eternal rest his father, Benjamin Dzwilewski Sr.; his mother, Marjorie Ronco; and his brother Benjamin Jr. and his sons Mark and Michael, who will be there to greet him with open arms.
As we remember Richard Daniel Dzwilewski, let us celebrate the indelible mark he made on our hearts and lives through his unwavering dedication to family, friends, and community. His legacy of love, mentorship, and resilience will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Celebration Of Life will be held Thursday October 23rd from 4-8pm at The Old Mill located at 69 State Road East (Route 2A) Westminster, Ma 01473
