Robert Joseph Smith, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on March 7, 1972, and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity.
Robert was a great roofer, painter, and general contractor who proudly ran his own self-employed business. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his vibrant personality; he could light up any room with his joyful spirit and his innate ability to bring smiles to those around him. Known as a funny and happy-go-lucky type of guy, Robert had an uncanny talent for turning ordinary moments into cherished memories, always caring for those he loved, and extending his generosity to anyone who crossed his path.
An enthusiastic sports fan, Robert also found joy in drawing and music, hobbies that reflected his creative heart and zest for life. These interests not only provided him with solace but also connected him with friends and family who shared similar passions.
He is survived by his son Ryan D. Smith, and Christopher Parkinson, his daughter’s Justina Smith, Jennifer, and Angela. 11 grandchildren including his grandsons Christopher JR, Anthony, Mykey, Wolfgang, Theodore, Brantley, Ryan JR, and Kaison and his granddaughter’s Kayliani, Juliana and Ariana. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings: Patrick Smith, Mary Tucker, Eleanor Shays, Rebecca Shays, and Terry Grady. Many nieces and nephews he enjoyed spending his time with including 4 who held a special place in his heart while he raised them as his own children; Albert Roman, Aaliyah Roman, Jordan Roman and Mia Roman. His other family include his beloved dad, Larry Saccamando, girlfriend Melissa Daigneault, and her sister Stacy, papa Alfred Jasmin, and Uncle Phil.
Robert was predeceased by his mother Beverly Shays, and his father Patrick Smith, along with his stepfather Frederick Shays and his pops Albert Smith. He also mourned the loss of his brothers Kenneth Smith Michael Grady, and Frederick Shays, Jr.
Though he will be dearly missed, Robert's spirit and the impact he made on those who knew and loved him will forever be a source of comfort and joy. As we remember his life, we celebrate the moments he gifted us, the laughter he shared, and the love he spread so generously during his time with us.
