Sally A. Harvey, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on February 4, 2026, in Worcester, Massachusetts, after a sudden illness. Born on September 10, 1939, in Woburn, Massachusetts, Sally was a radiant presence whose kindness and love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Sally was predeceased by her Husband Eldon (Butch) Harvey, Mother Doris C Walker, Father Freeman A. Bedley, Sister Janet Allen, Brother Ralph Bedley, and her son James S. Donohoe.
Sally's career was marked by dedication and hard work, serving as a Supervisor at Digital Equipment Corp and later becoming the owner of Orange Copy Center in Orange, Massachusetts. Her professional accomplishments were important to her, but it was her role as a mother and grandmother that truly defined her life.
A proud graduate of Woburn High School's class of 1957, Sally participated in numerous activities, including majorette, student council, badminton, basketball, and drama. She further pursued her education at the University of Maine at Augusta, where she took many classes, always eager to learn and explore new ideas.
Sally was a woman of incredible warmth and generosity. Her love for her children—James Donohoe, John Donohoe, Sally Bowers, and step daughter Cheri Adams—was unconditional. Through life's many challenges, she always provided unwavering support and comfort, sharing the best of herself even during tough times. Her children fondly remember the cozy winter days filled with her delicious tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, holding dear the simple joys that made life special.
Her spirit shone brightly during the holiday season, as each year, she and her daughter would joyfully start planning festivities as early as September. The anticipation of sharing meals and activities created lasting memories that would be cherished forever.
As a devoted pet owner, Sally adored her dogs, particularly her beloved labs, Billy, Peanut, and Emmy. She dedicated her time to training them and participating in pet therapy, making a difference in the lives of many through programs like Paws to Read, where she and Emmy would engage with children in her community. Sally's love for animals extended beyond her own pets; she was always there to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors with their furry companions.
Sally’s personality was characterized by kindness, a giving spirit, and the ability to bring people together. She had an innate gift for nurturing relationships, cherished by close friends such as Bette & David Collins, Barbara Day, and the Johnsons—Ken, Will, and Judy. Her warm presence was amplified by her deep connections with neighbors and community members, who will miss her dearly.
Her legacy lives on through her adoring family—her grandchildren Amanda MacArthur Hughes, Brandon MacArthur, Dylan Bowers, John Donohoe, Amber Moran, and Devyn Solana, along with great-grandchildren Ruby, Jayla, Finnegan, and Callen, who will carry forward her love of nature, kindness, and family unity. She also leaves behind so many nieces and nephews that she truly adored. Family meant everything to Sally.
Sally's journey has been one filled with love, laughter, and moments that will last a lifetime. She will be remembered not only for her accomplishments but for the love that radiated from her heart. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, and it will surely reflect the joy and warmth she brought to those around her. As we say goodbye, we are reminded of Sally's spirit and the countless memories that will forever warm our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Monadnock Humane Society whom Sally loved working with. Thank you!
