Sandra “Sandy” Percie (Harris) Gordon

On May 31, 2023, Sandra (Sandy) Percie Gordon, 85, passed away peacefully after suffering a cerebrovascular event a few weeks earlier.  She was born on the island of Manhattan, New York City, New York on October 27, 1937, and raised and educated in Greenfield, Massachusetts.  After graduating high school, she married and raised a family in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she would reside for sixty-plus years.

Sandy would realize a career in the care and education of young children as a para-professional with the Springfield School department for more than twenty years and as the owner of a daycare.

Sandy leaves behind four children: Ramonia Hargrett, Adrienne Gordon, Darrell Gordon, and Hillarie Gordon, and, greatly missed by nine grandchildren: Jesasica Johnson, Josephine Hargrett, Tory Lowe and his wife Kay, Corey Lowe and his wife Nicole, Monet Lowe, Richard Joppy, Anthony Alexander, Thomas Alexander, and Trvillian Dill as well as six great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents, Sarah and Loraine Thomas, her body was cremated and will be laid to rest next to them in Greenfield Cemetery. A celebration of Sandy’s life will take place around the anniversary of her passing in 2024.
