Sandra Elaine (Felland) Doud Vaudo

It is with love, sorrow, and peace we share that Sandra (Felland) Doud Vaudo passed away Friday May 23. Sandra was born in Minneapolis MN to Frances and Sidney (Barny) Felland. She graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1958.

Following the birth of her children, Sandra attained employment with the Travelers Insurance, moving from MN to Hartford CT. She met and married Jules Vaudo (deceased), eventually moving to Paxton, MA. Sandra worked for the Paul Revere Insurance Company through retirement, then worked as a teller for Spencer Savings Bank (now Cornerstone Bank).

Sandra was diagnosed with COPD several years ago, then with mesothelioma in January 2024. She did not respond to treatment and recently the cancer spread. She transitioned to Hospice care at home in April, receiving support and care through VNA Hospice, and through her family. She passed away peacefully in the presence of her family, and we are comforted knowing she is no longer struggling, frustrated, or hurting.

Sandra was fiercely independent and passed her courage, strength, loyalty and stubbornness on to her children Dawn and Adam Doud. She was a loving grandmother and her granddaughters, Nicole Doud, Allissa Doud, and Erin Doud, meant the whole world to her. She will be missed by her sisters whom she loved: Nancy Felland, and Karen Day and her husband Larry, and her nephews, niece and grandnieces. We know she is now reunited with her parents and the beloved aunts, uncles and cousins who predeceased her.

Sandra was an accomplished accordion player who instilled a love of music in her family. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, and baking, summer vacations at York Beach, ME. We will remember mom every time we are in Maine, visiting a beach, when we see turtles, and hear BB King. #bigfootisreal

A traditional wake and funeral are not being scheduled. The family will arrange a remembrance service celebrating Sandra’s life later in the year. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her honor to Sea Turtle Conservancy in her name be considered.
