Sean Paul Czupryna

August 31, 1983 — July 26, 2023

Sean Paul Czupryna, born August 31, 1983, passed away the morning of July 26, 2023 in the arms of his loved ones at his home in Brimfield.

Sean was truly a warrior and lived his life full of positivity! A childhood illness did not dampen his light nor his spirit. He made lifelong friends from every chapter of his life – from Brimfield Elementary School, to his bowling league, to his coworkers at the Big Y supermarket, to the doctors and nurses who became friends.

Sean was a helpful, dedicated, and dependable employee of Big Y for over 17 years. He took a lot of pride in his work and enjoyed connecting with customers and fellow employees. Not only was Sean always willing and able to step up and tackle any job that needed to be done, he genuinely loved going to work every day, ready to make someone smile.

Sean was a talented LEGO builder constructing enviable masterpieces. He spent his final weeks building an epic Eiffel Tower with over 10,000 pieces, standing just shy of 5 feet. When not working on LEGO, you could find Sean among friends around a poker table, playing video games, watching wrestling, and bowling. Sean also took very seriously his job as the DJ for the family’s annual Labor Day Picnic. Family and friends will treasure the memory of the Labor Day Picnics that celebrated his birthday each year.

Nothing was more important to Sean than his family. Some of the fondest memories and biggest laughs always seemed to involve lobster, a conductor’s cut of steak, or both. Sean’s distinct laugh, smile, and those chubby cheeks will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him. One of Sean’s proudest moments was becoming an uncle to his two nephews who were always excited to give “Uncle Seany” a fist bump.

Sean leaves behind his parents, Walter and Diane Czupryna, his sister Kayde Gower and her husband Doug along with his nephews Mason and Dylan. He will be sadly missed by his aunts Anne Turcotte, Rosemary Askew, Christine Askew-Palmer, Paula Askew; and uncles Richard (Carol) Askew and Kenneth Askew. Sean also leaves behind his cousin crew: Michelle (Lance) Heimall, Corey (Katie) Askew, Daniel (Lorraine) Askew, Richard (Teresa) Askew, Kimberly Askew, Brandon Palmer, Kerensa (Hunter Arden) Palmer, Brittney (Cory) Giordano, Ben and Lily Askew, Zachary and William Askew, and Adrianna Giordano.

Sean was predeceased by his grandparents Anna and Walter Czupryna and Mary and Loyal Askew, his aunt Alison Conant, his uncle George Turcotte, and his cousins Michael Askew and Emalyn Heimall.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Sean’s life on Tuesday, August 8th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Parish, 16 Sturbridge Road, Brimfield, MA 01010. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in memory of Sean Czupryna to help bring joy, laughter, and the spirit of camp to seriously ill children and their families at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, 555 Long Wharf Drive, New Haven, CT 06511 or via https://www.holeinthewallgang.org/get-involved/#donate
