Susan Anne Cotton died unexpectedly Friday, November 7, 2025, at her home in Marlborough, Massachusetts. She was 64, born October 4, 1961. She grew up in Ashland and graduated from Ashland High School in 1979 and had recently retired from decades of work at Walgreens. She was gentle and took pleasure in helping customers.
Susan was unassuming, quiet, and anxious not to impose on anyone. She took pleasure in her grandsons, William and Wyatt, and kept photos close for anyone to see. She loved purple, trips to Dunkin’, and constantly played the music of her childhood.
Susan will be most deeply missed by her closest companion, her sister Michele, with whom she lived most of their adult lives in close quarters and depended on each other for all things.
Susan is survived also by her brother Jonathan Cotton of Cambridge, her son Joseph Madden, her daughter Melissa Agostinelli, and her two grandsons William and Wyatt. She was predeceased by her parents Ruth (Shain) Cotton and Leslie Cotton, and her other sister, Barbara Siggins.
A service in memory of Susan will be held at the Chapel of the Cross in Westborough, Massachusetts on Tuesday, November 25th at 11 am.
